About Us: About Dr. Regala

Philip T. Regala, MD

Board Certified
Orthopedic Surgeon

"Though I always look for nonsurgical solutions first, there are times when surgery is the best or only answer. My medical education and training give me the skills necessary to make a proper diagnosis and judgment, deal with many injuries non-surgically and make sure that your procedure is safe, effective and comfortable."

Along with his four brothers and sister, Dr. Regala was raised in the small town of Hartford, Wisconsin. His father was an internal medicine physician and his mother was a nurse. They inspired him to go into medicine. He attended the University of Wisconsin and then the Medical College of Wisconsin, graduating with honors at both institutions. He interned in Minneapolis at the Hennepin County Medical Center. He did his orthopedic residency at the University of Miami / Jackson Memorial Hospital.

In 1997, he came to Naples to take over the practice of Dr. Jim Huddleston. He practices general orthopedics with an interest in sports medicine, joint replacement and fracture care. He has a special interest in arthroscopic treatment of shoulder disorders. He has also performed close to 1,000 joint replacement surgeries at Naples Community Hospital. In addition he has been the volunteer team physician for Gulf Coast High School since its inception.

He is a member of the Rotary Club of Naples. He has four children who attend Naples High School, Gulf View Middle School and Lake Park Elementary. His wife, Sue, is a nurse, and volunteers at NCH. In his free time, he likes to play tennis, water ski, fly fish, ride his bike and downhill ski. Mostly, however, he enjoys the company of his kids and family.
